ORPHAN ALERT! …Back in the shop. "Swell" / Happy Little Wave Whale

$235.00

This little one never left, but his intended adoption has fallen through and he now needs a new loving home. Whether he brings the ocean to you, or you bring the ocean to him, all will be meant to be. He is a very patient little soul.

This is a rare piece for me, being that he is fully chased in such labor intensive old school techniques. Using tools that are in some cases two centuries old, many of which were created by artisans at Tiffany in company over a hundred years ago. The tools themselves impart their own historical magic, flowing through from the hands of those long ago artist. Those artist who hand made each and every little tool, with a care that has been nearly lost in today’s world. My collection consists of about a thousand of these rare gems, and dozens were used to create this swell little peaceful ocean spirit, who’s only wish is for you to enjoy the beauty of life.

This one of a kind piece has been meticulously hand chased from fine silver over and over to eventually create a delicate sculptural relief.

The piece hangs from a 22” adjustable (can be worn shorter) sterling silver rolo chain. If other chain requirements are needed, please contact me before purchase.

The chasing process is done through the use of dozens of these antique hand made precisely carved steel tools and a wonderfully balanced and unique chasing hammer. One simple curve can consist of hundreds of controlled tool and hammer strikes. This once wide spread yet labor intensive process has become extremely rare in modern society, and is now considered a dying art.
